Expectations
Hello brothers and sisters. I hope you are all doing well. I would like to apologize for my unannounced absence from posting. I had some technical issues, but I think that is all resolved now. So how is everyone doing? Man, life is crazy sometimes. You never know what is going to happen. The events that transpired in my absence have reaffirmed my grounds on expectations. Sometimes, things just don’t seem to go “our way”. This is why letting go of expectations is healthy and congruently, a great teacher.
So, we all have this grand idea of how we feel our lives should go and what place we find ourselves in this human experience. This applies to the microcosm and the macrocosm perspectives of our lives. We set out in our day to day with a plan in our minds about how the events of the day will unfold and things we aim to accomplish in the process. When something arises that puts a wrinkle in our plans or definitively stops them, most tend to get irritated and angry or maybe even depressed. Why is this?
Once again, this dilemma comes directly back to ones ego. We are trying to control a situation and its outcome. When that control is challenged, our ego steps in and says, no, this is not what I want, I need to change this. Often times, when old Murphy’s Law steps in, anything that can go wrong will go wrong. This becomes overwhelming and melancholy can settle in when you observe through the wrong perspectives. I know we have discussed many useful tools in this newsletter for vibrational awareness and alchemy of self. Out of all the tools at our exposure, being present and flowing is one of the most beneficial tools in our tool box.
What I have come to understand in this world is that sometimes the universe has other plans for us. If we try and control a situation that is out of our control, this will only bring us grief, stress, and animosity. When we set out to do something, and everything about our lives starts to fall apart, this is a sign from the universe to pause and observe. This is our cue to not act but just be present. Step away from our expectations and just flow with the direction we are being taken.
Think of it as a ripple effect. Here is an example: Say we get up in the morning and stub our toe first thing. Well, that can be an aggravating first step to our day. Then we go in the kitchen and get a cup of coffee after dressing for work. Take a drink and the handle breaks and coffee spills all over us. Now, we have to go shower and change, putting us further behind schedule. We are getting extremely frustrated and begin taking the events of the day so far out on others in the household with the way we respond or the tone in our attitude. We then not only have messed up the start of our day but also the ones we love around us.
Now, picture the same scenario, but we did not let it phase us or change our morning demeanor. We leave for work and come into the clean up stages of a car wreck. Suddenly it dawns on us, man if all that “bad stuff” didn’t happen to me this morning, then that would have been me involved in that wreck. That is really crazy to think about. By just pausing, breathing, and flowing, we adjusted to the universes plans to step in and save us by a right time right place scenario.
It is wonderful to have dreams and goals, but we need to keep in mind that each one of us has a unique and individual purpose here. In the grand scheme of things, our “plans” may be put on hold by the universe to direct us to precisely where we need to be at to continue our work. Being able to direct ones ego to see past the illusion of control allows us to find a state of flow. Being present in those moments and not concerned with outcomes is how we are able to observe the signs being sent to us to direct us where we have attuned our vibration to be, and to perceive the desired reality.
I understand that this is often times a hard task to do when the weight of the world is on your shoulders. But, if we can step away from our ideological concept of control, allow ourselves to perceive these often times not so subtle clues, when it all unfolds, usually we are right were we need to be at and usually better off than what we were before. Patience, compassion, empathy, and love is how we see through the illusion of control. Like I have said in previous posts, the UNI- meaning one, VERSE- meaning song. The universe is one harmonious song perfectly orchestrated to work in harmony with our individual notes we play. We don’t want to control the song, we just want to BE part of it.
We did not write this song, so what would give us the audacity to think that we are in charge of this song and the melody that plays out. Granted, we can do things in our lives that help direct the outcomes of the challenges we face. But, when the internal and external elements of our lives are imploding, it is time to breath, flow, and just be present. Don’t sweat the small stuff, what they say. Sometimes it is not so small, but the dedication remains the same.
When we chose to incarnate on this planet to have a human experience, we decided on the lessons we would like to learn and the challenges we wanted to face. I feel that one of those biggest challenges to face is the transformation of ego. This may be why when we have a certain plan, since we chose to learn lessons on the ego, the universe puts a block in our path to test our moxie and see if we are truly worthy to learn the lessons. I also feel that when we get off track from our prime directive, the universe steps in to reshape our foot pattern to direct us to the proper path.
Regardless what happens in life, it is not the end. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. This means that we are the same energy from the beginning and each incarnation is manifested in a different application or perspective. All we take with us is the knowledge of the soul and the vibration of our energy bodies. Through each incarnation, we learn more and fine tune our vibrational energy bodies. This is what it really comes down to. So next time you feel yourself getting irritated about a way a situation is going, stop and just breathe. Take a step back and just be present. The cues are there for us, we just need to remember to listen. I love all of you very much. You are all so beautiful. I am happy to be a part of our song.
